Main projects in the past five years

  1. Progress "Together for Equality" The programme of the Hungarian Ministry of Social Affairs and Labour is a continuation of the European Year for Equal Opportunities for All - 2007. It targets the efforts to combat discrimination on the grounds of gender, ethnicity (Roma), disability, age and sexual orientation of the Amsterdam Treaty through awareness raising activities and the strengthening of the Hungarian national machinery. Our Foundation carried out the project that aimed to assist the institutional contact making and networking between EU level umbrella networks representing potential victims of discrimination and the Hungarian National Councils in the field. It targeted the efforts to combat discrimination on the grounds of gender, ethnicity (Roma), disability, age and sexual orientation of the Amsterdam Treaty. The seminars had given the opportunity to the EU umbrella organizations to introduce themselves and also the Hungarian councils to review their activities. The agendas were put together by the Councils themselves in cooperation with the EU umbrella organization. In the course of the seminars the invited delegated and the members of the Hungarian Councils could form personal and professional relationships and continued preexisting cooperation.

    The main results of the workshops were personal and professional relations between the Hungarian national machinery in a wider sense (National Councils and other NGO umbrella networks, equality bodies, social partners, members of the National Parliament, National Equal Opportunity Network etc.) responsible for and/or active in the field of anti-discrimination and the European level umbrella organisations. The project period was  April 2008-June 2008

  3. "Networking and partnership" project, networking and labour market training in social administration for associates of organizations in social and labour services being realized with the measures of HRDOP 2.2. The goal of the project is to promote the social inclusion of multiply disadvantaged groups and their integration to the labour market through focused analysis of local labour market opportunities and training of affected experts. The period of the project: March 2007 - February 2008.

  4. Realization of Ministry of Social Affairs and Labour commissioned anti-discrimination training program for civil organizations that pursue or for those who want to pursue anti-discrimination activities. The training took place between June 25, 2007 and August 17, 2007. The duration of the training was 24 hours (2 x 2 days); altogether 135 people took part representing 102 civil organizations. The main issues of training: anti-discrimination, the theory and practice of promoting equal treatment, equal opportunity; the role of civil organizations in fight against discrimination; development of skills applicable in practice; elaboration of anti-discrimination project plans to be submitted to related "tender fund". The main activities of the Foundation in course of the program were the following: preparation of project, elaboration of training program, national announcement of the training; selection of participants, assessing demand among the selected participants, organization, and realization of training, making and operating the website of the project, preparing the electronic and printed version of the professional material of "Anti-discrimination Handbook".

  5. Project no. HRDOP-2.2.1.-P.-2004-10-0014/4.0 entitled "Project Management, Tender Preparation and Partnership Building for Labour Market Integration of Disabled People", in that the Budapest Organization of Konszenzus Foundation was the consortium partner of Public Foundation of Disabled People's Opportunity. The goal of the program was: to promote social inclusion of people living with disability by increasing their labour market opportunities. In course of the project preparation representatives of 30 civil organizations were enabled efficiently to help the reintegration of people living with disability into the labour market in Budapest and counties Somogy and Nógrád. In the framework of preparation there were 14 training days in the following four fields: building partnership, developing cooperation and mediation, preparing tenders and project management, and labour market knowledge. Period of realization: February 1, 2006 - January 31, 2008.

  6. "HRDOP/1.3.1-05/1 "With Women for Women" employment in district VIII of Budapest. The project contributed to strengthen the economic, social situation of district VIII, Budapest in accordance with the medium-term district development strategy, through (re)integration of disadvantaged, unemployed women living there into the labour market, improving their quality of life, training, community development and ensuring new employment forms with the help of present model experiments. In course of the project 15 women (mainly with Roma origin with low education level) those who had life situation e.g. living on child's care allowance or fee and those over 40 years, who wanted to return to the labour market, were trained. Period of realization: June 2006 - April 2008.

  7. Preparation of feasibility study entitled "Establishment and Operation of Educational, Adult Training and Counselling Equal Opportunity Centre in Nagykanizsa", survey and analysis of local and regional labour market processes between December 2006 and April 2007.

  8. On 31 March, 2006, the project "Conflict Management Training and Cooperative Planning for Experts Working in Social Administration" realized with financing by HRDOP 2.2. measure that was concluded successfully. In this framework the training methodology was designed for the special needs of people living with disability and aimed to train client-communication skills to people working in the social administration. Almost 300 experts of the 19 counties and their local governments' social administration departments took part in the training and accredited training method was realized for them.

  9. Project no. HRDOP-2.2.1-P.-2004-07-0026/4.0 entitled "We Are Going to the Same Well", where the Foundation was the consortium partner of the Nap Klub Foundation. The goal of the program: networking and partnership building in district VIII. for experts working in social care and child welfare that local government and civil institutions operating in the district should know each other's work and problems. Our Foundation carried out two trainings in the program. In that framework, the experts working in social fields in the district had the opportunity to get acquainted with each other and to build partnership. In this way there was possibility to better coordinate the possibilities, to use resources more economically that more unemployed be employed. Period of realization: April 1, 2005 - June 1, 2006.

  10. Training of mentors of OFA program "Roma Labour Market Service Network" The goal of the Network is to improve the labour market competitiveness of the Roma population, to help their social inclusion by creating new workplaces responding to the needs on local level in the field of labour market services. The following training modules were ensured for the mentors: Tender Basics of the European Union, Basic Labour Knowledge, Problem-solving, Cooperation Development and Conflict Management Training; Communication Skill Development, Tender Preparation, Program Management, Theory and Practice of Counselling, Basic Educational Knowledge. The training took place between January and February 2006.

  11. "Social and Employment Position of Roma Population in South-Zala", target-group research in the framework of Gandhi program for Interest Representation and Cultural Society of Gypsies in Zala County (ROP-3.2.2-2004-09-0004/32) between November 2005 and March 2006.

  12. Managing external assessment of Phare HU 2002/000-315.01.04 and 2003/004-347.05.03 "Fight against Exclusion from the World of Work" programs between December 2004 and November 2006 (we were one of the subcontractors). The assessment included statistical and qualitative analysis blocks of the projects that were completed successfully. Summarizing study was written to conclude the assessment work.

  13. "Mediator Training for Associates of Roma Community Houses and Information Centers" Phare program HU0101-01/5. In the framework of the program 38 mediators (community developers) appointed by Roma Community Houses operating countrywide were trained. The 300 hour training comprised a theoretical part (social institution network, conflict management, interest representation, communication, basic computer skills, community building, tender preparation) and field work.

  14. 13. "Romany Studies, Gypsy Language and Conflict Management Training for the Employees of Pest County Police Headquarters" Phare HU0101-01/2.2 Program: Romany Studies, gypsy language and conflict management training for almost 240 policemen. The main goal of the program is to reduce conflicts between Roma and policemen, to force back prejudice against Roma. The training consisted of three main elements: Gypsy language teaching, lecture on Roma people, conflict management, skill development trainings. Simultaneously with the training there were workshops to hand over experiences.
