About us

Our organization

Konszenzus Alapítvány Budapest Branch has been active since 2000. Over more than two decades our focus has steadily shifted and grown, yet one fundamental aim has remained the same throughout: to create knowledge, methods and partnerships that can also be applied in the everyday functioning of organisations and communities.

From the very beginning, we have worked on questions of social and labour market integration, with a particular focus on widening opportunities for disadvantaged groups. Adult education, research and conflict management grew naturally out of this work, followed later by organisational development and an increasingly prominent role for international professional cooperation.

In our work, we always start from the situation at hand. Rather than trying to fit ready-made solutions onto organisations or communities, we first seek to understand the problem, the environment in which they operate and the perspectives of those affected. Development, training or collaboration is then built on that understanding.

Since 2000, we have been delivering adult education programmes and training courses for participants from different social groups, with varied positions in the labour market and a wide range of professional backgrounds.

Over the years, tens of thousands of people have taken part in our training courses. We have worked with jobseekers with low levels of formal education, with professionals in the social and public education sectors, and with the employees and managers of businesses. The subject matter and methodology of our programmes are always tailored to the target group, the professional context and the development need at hand.

Our work is supported by an extensive professional network. We work with a circle of partners made up of trainers, educators and experts from a range of fields, which allows us to involve specialists with the right experience for each training programme or development task.

Alongside adult education, we design and deliver training courses and workshops built around the needs of organisations, covering areas such as communication, collaboration, conflict management, leadership skills and other professional and soft skills.

Our organisation is a registered, licensed adult education institution.

Our Projects

Our projects include national-scale developments, local programmes and international collaborations alike. We have worked with ministries and national professional bodies, local governments, civil society organisations, businesses and partners abroad, both on independent professional assignments and within consortia and multi-stakeholder partnerships.

The themes of our projects have changed over the years, but several questions keep returning: labour market participation and mobility, social integration and equal opportunities, the development of social and public education systems, strengthening the capacities of civil society and institutions, and adapting to a changing social, economic and technological environment.

What our projects have in common is that we are rarely brought in for isolated tasks. More often we take part in a meaningful stage of a larger development process, from preparation and exploration through implementation to evaluation.
